I
have begun a series at the local public library called "Supermodel Science" where participants (usually young ladies)
get hands-on experience with important chemical basics such as solubility, emulsification, and surfaction.
I
cover the biology of skin and hair, as well as the physical properites of light tanning/burning and how sunscreens work. Understanding
the physical properties of light can also assist us with camouflage and contouring work to help us look our best when applying
make-up .
I will be posting the protocol I used in these outreach series in the next
few months.
I also plan to create more videos including one about a skin cream that acts like mini batteries
on the skin!
