Stem Cells for the Layman

During my time as a laboratory teaching specialist with the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois, I taught cell biology and tissue engineering. An important aspect of that field is knowing the capabilities of stem cells and their uses in regenerative medicine. Since the field is not always clear to the lay public and because it is a topic full of controversy, I accepted an invitation from Parkland College’s World of Science lectures to speak with the public about what stem cells are,  the history of the science of stem cells and some of the major scientific findings.

Once upon a time, youtube did not allow you to upload very long videos, so my hour long talk became 11 separate videos.
